Portable Applience Testing

Portable Appliances can be defined as any electrical appliance with a plug attached.
This includes IT equipment, hand held tools, kitchen appliances, extension cables and much more.

Depending on the type and class of equipment, tests such as Formal Visual Inspection, Earth Bond, Insulation, Leakage and Polarity are carried out and the results recorded and presented to you in a comprehensive report.

Testing is carried out using the latest computerised testing equipment by our engineers who hold the 'City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate for the Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment'.

Approximately 100 appliances per day can be tested however this does depend upon the location and type of equipment to be tested.

We would advise that re-testing is carried out on most appliances every 12 months but frequencies are based on the type of appliance, environment and useage. Recommended frequencies range from 6 months to 4 years and you will be advised of suitable re-testing frequencies when on site.

Our aim is to provide a professional and efficient service which minimises disruption to you and your employees. We are more than happy to carry out testing outside your normal working hours and at weekends at no extra charge.

Portable Appliance Testing is an important part of your Health and Safety Policy and is a requirement by many Insurance Companies.
